WMS 499: Girl Scouts Leadership Training
Earn college credit while training and serving as a Girl Scout Troop Leader! You'll learn techniques for building confidence, character, and courage in young women.
- Participation in this independent study opportunity involves:
- Completing Girl Scout Troop Leader training
- Planning and facilitating bi-weekly 2-hour troop meetings (possibly as a co-leader)
- Researching and developing a troop activity designed to help girls develop courage, confidence or character
- Attending monthly Leaders Service Unit meetings
- Assisting with the planning and implementation of outings, field trips, etc.
- Learning about the history and day-to-day operations of the Girl Scouts
Participants will be required to spend 10 hours each week at the offices of the Girl Scouts Wilderness Road Council, engaged in the activities described above.

- Girl Scouts Adult Registration form
- GSWRC Independent Study/Service Learning Student Agreement
- WMS 499 Learning Contract
